What do you notice about the tone?
What struck me is how much he sounds like every Bond villain there’s ever been. The pretending everything’s fine even when it isn’t. The militaristic posturing. The exclamation marks. It’s all there, so obvious I can’t believe I hadn’t noticed it before.
Here’s Blofeld, for instance:
The firing power inside my crater is enough to annihilate a small army! You can watch it all on TV. It’s the last program you’re likely to see.
